I actually, breed these cats!!!!
Lexi finally had her kittens early this morning. She had 3. 2 girls and 1 boy. One of the girls had problems when she was born, and I had to help her out with it. I had to stay up until 5 am to make sure she could eat, and was warm. She stayed in the birth canal a little too long. I already lost one kitten from this from Char's litter, I really didn't want to lose her too. She's doing fine along with her sister, and brother.
Then my little one was up at 8am. So I had almost 3 hours of sleep today. I plan on going to bed somewhat early tonight.
Charlotte's kittens are now a week old. All are doing fine. They are now around 6 oz - 7 oz. Which, is a pretty good sized weights.
Alexis still hasn't had her kittens, I think she's just being stubborn. Hopefully, by this weekend she will be having hers, if not, I'll have to take her into the Vet's. Which, she will really be a happy cat after that.
Kittens are doing fine. Looks like now there are two boys and two girls. So hard to tell at this stage in what they really are. 3 of them are gaining weight, one is about the same. Which, is normal in the first week.
Charlotte one of my breeder cats had kittens starting at 9 am this morning. She had 4 right away, 3 girls and 1 boy. 2 weighing in at 4.1 and 2 weighing in at 4.0 which, is really good average is 3.0 - 3.5 for kittens. She had a 5th one born at 12:30pm. Sadly, this one did not survive. I tried everything I could think of to save it.
Vet has performed a Necropsy to make sure on what he died of. Yes, it was a male kitten. The vet believes, that the placenta had detached from the inside of her early on when the rest were born. There was nothing I could to do to help him.
Sad but, happy that the others have survived so far.
Charlotte is tired as heck but, really good and watching her babies, and taking care of them really well.
I wanted to tell everyone Happy 4th Of July in America! I hope everyone has a safe and fun 4th.
I'm back home again. Got home at 5am this morning.
